Instructor Rating

The holder of a licence endorsed with an instructor rating may exercise the privilege to instruct students.

Requirements:

  • Prerequisites: Commercial Pilots Licence and have completed 20 hours instrument time, 10 of which must be instrument flight time.
    •
  • Medical Fitness & Validity: Category 1 Medical Certificate.
    •
  • Knowledge: Minimum of 25 hours ground school. The stundent must achieve a 70% on the Flight Instructor Rating - Aeroplane Class 4 (AIRAF)

  • Skill: The skill must successfully complete a Transport Canada Instructor Flight Test.
    •
  • Experience: 30 hours dual including 5 hours in Instrument Instruction)
